Horní Beřkovice lies approximately 26 kilometres (16 mi) south-east of Litoměřice, 40 km (25 mi) south-east of Ústí nad Labem, and 31 km (19 mi) north of Prague.
The village contains a former mental institution, now the town hall and a firing range for police. The forests nearby contain many different types of animals, from deer to hares. Once every year when harvest time comes, farmers are out all day collecting their harvest. The air quality gets very poor, and hay fever sufferers will have a hard time. This lasts around one full day, until around mid-night.
